1. Who we are
Your Cruise Person is a small, independent cruise travel advisor business based in California and run by Ashley. When these terms say "we", "us" or "our", they mean Your Cruise Person. "You" means anyone using this site or planning travel with us.
We're an independent agent of a host agency, Outside Agents. Bookings we make for you are made through Outside Agents, which provides our booking systems and handles commission from the cruise lines. Section 11 has its full details.
Independent Agent of FST No. ST15578 and CST No. 2090937-50
By using this site, or by asking us to plan or book travel, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. What we do for you
We help you work out which cruise fits, answer your questions, and then book it with the cruise line for you. After booking, we keep an eye on deadlines and help if something needs changing.
We don't own or operate any ships, airlines, hotels or tours. The cruise line or travel supplier provides the actual travel. We arrange it with them for you.
Our recommendations are our honest opinion, based on our own experience and what we know about each line. The final choice is always yours.
3. Cruise lines and suppliers set the rules
Every booking is a contract between you and the cruise line or supplier. They decide fares, availability, cabins, itineraries, what's included, deposits, payment deadlines, and their own terms and cancellation policies. Their terms govern your booking. For a cruise, that's usually called the cruise ticket contract or passage contract. We'll point you to it before you book, and it's worth reading.
Cruise lines can change itineraries, skip ports, change ship schedules or cancel sailings, often for weather or safety reasons. When that happens, the cruise line's own policy decides what you're offered. We'll help you understand your options and deal with the line for you where we can.
4. Fares and availability
Cruise fares and cabin availability change constantly, sometimes several times a day. Any fare, cabin, sailing or inclusion shown on this site, mentioned in our emails or videos, or discussed with us is not guaranteed until the cruise line confirms your booking. If we make an honest mistake quoting something, the cruise line's confirmed fare and terms are what apply.
Government taxes, port fees, gratuities and onboard charges are set by the cruise line and can change. Your booking confirmation shows what's included.
5. How we're paid
Cruise lines and other travel suppliers pay us a commission, through our host agency, when you book with us. Using us doesn't add anything to your fare.
Commission levels differ between suppliers, and we may also receive other compensation from suppliers or from our host agency, such as bonuses tied to how much we book. We recommend what fits your trip.
If we ever charge a fee for a specific service, we'll tell you the amount in writing before you agree to it.
6. Payments, changes and cancellations
Deposits and payments for your cruise are paid to the cruise line or supplier. Payment deadlines are set by them, and missing one can mean the booking is canceled and deposits are lost.
If you want to change or cancel a booking, tell us as soon as possible. Changes and cancellations follow the cruise line's or supplier's policy, including any penalties, and those penalties can be up to the full value of the trip close to sailing. We'll pass your request on and confirm what the cruise line says.
Before you pay for travel booked with us, you'll receive written details that California law requires, including the cancellation terms and whether your purchase is covered by the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund.
7. Your responsibilities
Some things only you can take care of. Please:
- Give us accurate details. Every traveler's name must match their passport or government ID exactly. Name corrections after booking can carry a fee, and a mismatch can stop you boarding.
- Carry the right documents. You're responsible for valid passports, visas, and any other entry or re-entry documents for every traveler, including children. Requirements depend on citizenship and itinerary, and they change. Check with the relevant government sources, and check again before you travel.
- Meet health requirements. Some destinations and cruise lines have vaccination, health or fitness rules, and cruise lines have their own limits, for example on pregnancy or infants. Tell us and the cruise line about any accessibility or medical needs early.
- Read your documents. Check your booking confirmation as soon as you get it and tell us about any mistake right away. Complete online check-in and meet the cruise line's deadlines.
- Get to the ship on time. If you miss the ship, the cruise line usually doesn't have to wait for you or give you a refund. We suggest arriving in the port city the day before.
- Consider travel insurance. We strongly recommend it. It can cover cancellations, medical care away from home and missed connections, which cruise lines and regular health plans often don't. If you choose not to buy it, you accept those risks.
8. Guides, videos and the calculator
The guides, emails, videos and tools on this site, including the Bar Tab Calculator, are for general information. The calculator's results are estimates based on the answers you enter and on rates we checked at the date shown on the page. Cruise lines change rates, packages and policies, and what you actually spend will be different. Please confirm current details with the cruise line before you decide, and don't treat anything here as financial, legal, medical or immigration advice.
We work hard to keep things accurate and up to date, but we can't promise every detail is current.
9. Our content and trademarks
The words, photos, videos, graphics and tools on this site belong to Your Cruise Person or are used with permission. You're welcome to link to any page and to share your calculator results. Please don't copy our content for commercial use without asking first.

Your Cruise Person is the brand of an independent travel agent booking through A.S.A.P. Cruises, Inc., and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Virgin Voyages or any other cruise line. When we name a cruise line, it doesn't mean that cruise line has reviewed or approved what we say.
This site links to other websites, such as cruise line and government sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices.
10. What we're responsible for
We're responsible for doing our own part carefully: passing on your details and requests accurately, and telling you what we know.
We're not responsible for what cruise lines, airlines, hotels, tour operators, insurers or other suppliers do or fail to do. That includes their rates, schedule changes, cancellations, overbooking, service, safety, delays, lost luggage, or financial failure. We're also not responsible for events outside anyone's control, such as weather, natural disasters, illness outbreaks, strikes, government actions or port closures. Your remedies for those are with the supplier, under its terms, and with your travel insurance.
To the fullest extent California law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim about a booking is limited to the commission we earned on that booking.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that can't be limited by law, including your rights under California's travel and consumer protection laws.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
