How it works
Using me doesn't add anything to your fare.
That's the question everybody asks first, so here's the answer first. Then what I actually do, step by step.
What using me comes to
Here's the whole list: zero. No planning fee, no markup, no bill at the end.
Cruise fares already have a travel agent's commission built into them. Book through an agent, and that's who the cruise line pays. Book it yourself, and the cruise line just keeps it.
So when you book through me, the cruise line pays me out of money you were already spending. It never touches your fare.
Now the catch, because there's always a catch. I only get paid if you book through me. That's it. That's the entire catch.
So no, I'm not neutral. But if a cruise is wrong for you, I'll say so. I'd rather lose one booking than book you wrong.
What working with me looks like
The booking part takes maybe ten minutes. Everything around it is the actual job.

When you want to go, who's coming, and what you want out of the trip. If you already found a sailing you like, send me that too.

I narrow it down
Thousands of sailings, down to the handful that actually fit your trip and your budget. And if a line is wrong for you, I'll tell you.

Step 3
I book it and track the details
Which cabins sit under the pool deck. What's directly above and below yours. When your final payment is due. The stuff you find out the hard way exactly once.

Step 4
I keep watching
After you book, fares move and things change. If yours drops, I'll catch it, and I'll tell you whether your fare can move with it. Some can and some are locked.

You have a person
When something goes sideways the night before you sail, you have somebody who answers.
Booking it yourself vs booking with me
You can absolutely book a cruise yourself. Plenty of people do and it works out fine.
But booking it yourself doesn't take the travel agent out of your fare. It just takes out the travel agent. What you give up is everything that money was supposed to buy.
Sometimes there's cabin space that doesn't show up on the website. On some sailings there are extras that only come through an advisor. And there's somebody watching the fare after you've paid.
And there's the stuff I've learned over fourteen cruises. We fly in the day before the cruise. Every single time. I'll also tell you to get a passport, even if your sailing doesn't require one. I'd just rather you have the passport and never need it.
One thing to know up front: once your booking is with me, you come to me for changes instead of the cruise line. If you'd rather handle it all yourself, book direct, genuinely. I'd rather you know that now than find out in month three.

If you booked recently and haven't paid in full yet, it's usually not too late to move it over to me.
With Virgin Voyages, a booking can be moved to an advisor within 30 days of when you booked, as long as it isn't paid in full. Other cruise lines have their own rules, so tell me the line and when you booked, and I'll check yours properly instead of guessing.

Do I pay more booking through you?

Which cruise lines do you book?
Mostly Virgin Voyages, plus Royal Caribbean and Carnival. Those are lines I've sailed myself: Carnival nine times, Royal Caribbean three times and Virgin once. If you're looking at a different line, ask me. If it's one I haven't sailed, I'll tell you that up front.
Do I have to talk on the phone?
No. You can do the whole thing by email. If a quick call would make something easier, I'll ask you first.
What about onboard spending money and other perks?
It depends on the line and the sailing. Some sailings come with onboard spending money or other extras when you book through an advisor, and some don't. I'll tell you what applies to yours before you book, and I won't promise anything I haven't checked.
Why would I send you a cruise I already found?
Because having someone look is free. If it's right, I book the exact thing you picked. If something's off, better to find out now than at muster drill.
